Berd spoked asymmetric gravel wheelset. we have chosen an asymmetric rin profile for this build for two main reasons.

1. Is to even out the spoke tensions between the drive and disc side of the wheel. With a traditional symmetric rim profiles on a rear disc wheel the difference in spoke tensions between these sides can be as much as 40%. This is due to spoke bracing angles between the two sides. With the asymmetric rim we reduce bracing angle differences and hence reduce the difference in spoke tensions between the drive and non drive side of the wheel.
2. This is especially important with Berd spokes, as the max spoke tension allowed is 100kgf. With a steel spoke its generally 120kgf.  So by using the asymmetric profile we increase the non drive side tension from what would be sub 50kgf around 70kgf. Resulting in a much better balanced wheel.

The use of the  polymer spokes allows us to strip 150-200 grams from the wheelset, which resutls in an extremely low rotational mass. You can achieve this without sacrificing the quality, strength and stiffness of the hubs and rims. 

Build process: - Wheel is laced, trued and tensioned. - Each day the wheel is re-tensioned /trued until all the pre stretch has been removed from the spokes. Weight from1100g depending on hubs. 35 deep carbon rims. 26 internal hookless width and 32 external width can com in at around the 1100 gram range.
